First made for a New Years’ Eve party, these were a hit and gone long before midnight ever arrived. The recipe is easily multiplied depending on the size of your crowd and is the perfect recipe for a crockpot.

Serves 8

2 lb. bag small frozen meatballs

½  cup diced onions

¼  cup diced green peppers

¼  cup molasses

1 cup Bone Doctors’® Sweet & Spicy Barbeque Sauce

¼ cup chopped bacon partially cooked to render some fat (approx. 3 slices)

1 Tbsp. rendered bacon fat

2 tsp. liquid smoke

1 tsp. Bone Doctors’®Premium Spice Blend

Place meatballs in crockpot. Frozen or thawed is fine, though cooking time will be longer if frozen.

Heat the rendered bacon fat in a skillet and lightly sauté the onions and green peppers until soft.

Mix all ingredients for the sauce adding additional Bone Doctors’®Premium Spice Blend to taste.

Pour over meatballs in crockpot and mix gently but thoroughly.

Heat on low 4-6 hours, until heated through and sauce absorbed.
